What is an infusion?
An infusion delivers fluids, vitamins, and minerals through an IV catheter that will be placed into a vein in your arm. This means that a vein is entered with a catheter needle, placing only the catheter in your vein, and infusing your desired mixture. Each infusion appointment takes about one hour: 20 minutes to fill out paperwork/obtain vital signs/complete assessment, and 30 to 40 minutes to start IV and infuse fluids/vitamins. The effects of each infusion last about one to two weeks, depending on the person. The risks of the infusion are incredibly low, as all of the vitamins are not foreign to us, meaning our body creates a certain amount of them already!
